These Terms and Conditions have been provided by the Queensland University of Technology (QUT) for the current SCOOT event held at the QUT campus at Kelvin Grove on July 26, 2009.:

For the 2009 SCOOT Event at Queensland University of Technology, Kelvin Grove Campus (”venue”).
1. Scoot will be played by persons visiting QUT Open Day on 26th of July 2009. Playing Scoot is at your own risk.
2. Teams will be required to move between various building sites on campus in order to play the Scoot game, and will be responsible for their own safety between playing sites.
3. We are not liable for you or any person with you for:
a. injury to you or anybody else; or
b. damage to, destruction of, or theft of your mobile phone and/or other personal property; however caused, and you release and indemnify us from any claim, which you might otherwise have against us, whilst playing Scoot.
4. Conditions of entry to all venues will apply. Teams will be responsible for complying with the relevant conditions of entry for each venue.
5. Each team is required to participate with one mobile telephone, which is capable of both sending and receiving SMS messages (the “Registered Mobile Phone”) in order to play Scoot.
6. Your mobile phone number is being collected by SCOOT and will be retained by its agents, Debra Polson of Newish Media. Every reasonable attempt will be made to ensure the privacy of that information and will only be used for the purposes of playing SCOOT. Your personal information will not be provided to any other third party entity without your consent.
7. Each team will be required to send approximately 10 SMS messages from their Registered Mobile Phone, while participating at the Scoot venue. All costs and/or charges incurred as a result of sending these SMS messages will be the liability of the owner of the Registered Mobile Phone priced according to the owners current SMS standard charge rates. However, all costs and/or charges relating to SMS messages sent by the SCOOT game to the mobile phone will be borne solely by SCOOT
8. To go in the draw to win a prize, teams will need to complete 1 Faculty SMS Pathway. Teams are to collect Start Cards at the various Queensland University of Technology Faculty Information locations. Each SMS Pathway may consist of between 6 and 8 SMS clues.
9. Teams will receive a SMS to inform them when they become elligible for the prize. This SMS will also inform the Teams of the location for the draw. The prize will be drawn at the end of the QUT Open Day, the location and time will be determined by the Queensland University of Technology.
11. For internal research purposes, and for marketing and publicity purposes, each of the Scoot venues as detailed in (1) above, as well as Debra Polson of Newish Media, who have all collaborated to realise SCOOT (the “Scoot Partners”) may film, take photograph(s) and make sound recording(s) of you whilst you are participating in SCOOT. Any or all of the SCOOT Partners may then publish, re-produce, copy, transmit and use those film(s), photograph(s) and sound recording(s). If you do not agree to inclusion in the research, you will need to identify this verbally to SCOOT Representatives on the day. No information identifying individual team members will be attached to any such materials.
